FAQ

The most Frequently-Asked Questions and related Answers about Flyone technique.
What do I have to do for sending the CT off?
The CT, in dicom format, should be sent to Safe&Simple by regular mail or even digitally, sending the digital file by email to fabio.b@safeandsimple.it. Our experience suggests that the best tool for data transmission is wetransfer.com, which allows a very quick, easy and free transfer, even for heavy files.
What do we mean by "data transmission"?
Data transmission can be accomplished if the customer has a 3D scanner available for scanning master model, antagonist model and radiological template. Info have to be transferred to Safe&Simple then. Wetransfer.com is the most efficient and easiest tool for doing that.
Is it possible to verify the precision of Flyone replica?
Dimensional precision of anatomical models obtained through stereolithography has been extensively confirmed by a research published on "Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy" in 1997. Results demonstrate how replica's dimensions may diverge from the bone by an average of 0.12 mm (range: 0 - 0.19 mm). Authors concluded the research confirming the great reliability of stereolithographic models, which makes they suitable and useful for pre-surgical planning activities, especially when the professional plans implants insertion.
Regarding teeth morphology precision obtained with Flyone technique, the max. margin of error is 0.03 mm, the same as the widely accepted margin of error for modern 3D scanner. Quality and precision of stereolithographic models depend on both CT accuracy and time gap between CT and surgery.

How long does it take to get the replica?
The necessary time for fabricating the replica is between 10-12 working days, starting from the day we receive Ct and models from customer.
04
Is it required the use of any software?
It isn't. Flyone technique does not require the purchase or use of any software. By the contrary, the technique is based on a solid and real model which is used by the professional for planning the entire surgery on it. All the necessary is included into the Flyone kit.

Is it possible for not-S1 users to utilize Flyone technique?
Flyone technique has been studied and developed for S1 implants. in order to get the maximum level of precision, Safe&Simple has developed Fly fixture, which is the same as the real S1 fixture but polish (it has not been sandblasted). However, the tecnique can fit other implant sistems as well; instead of Fly fixture the professional uses analog.

07
If while planning the surgery I make a mistake or I drill the wrong place, how can I amend to it?
If mistakes or second thoughts occur, holes can be closed using cold resin. At this point replica can be drilled again.
